ST. PAUL'S BIBLIOGRAPHIES
St. Paul's Bibliographies
|
Welcome to the literary world of books about books. Since
1979, St. Paul's has specialized in the publishing and distribution
of important books in the fields of bibliography, histories
of printing, publishing, typography, illustration, bookbinding,
bookselling, book collecting, and other related areas.
St. Paul's was founded in 1979 by Robert Cross after a distinguished
career as publisher at the British Museum (Natural History).
Using his close relationships with Oxford and Cambridge University
Press, Mr. Cross purchased rights to many classic bibliographies,
which he then brought up to date and published under his esteemed
series, WINCHESTER BIBLIOGRAPHIES OF 20TH-CENTURY WRITERS.
He has also edited and published new works to honor many other
important 20th-century authors. Cross's other distinguished
series about the book trade and its history, PUBLISHING PATHWAYS,
is also acclaimed by scholars and historians around the world.

In 1991, St. Paul's began to co-publish many of its titles
with Oak Knoll Press. Upon Cross's retirement in 1997, Robert
Fleck, president of Oak Knoll Press, purchased St. Paul's
Bibliographies to preserve and continue the unique relationship
between these two companies. Though each publisher continues
to publish and co-publish under their own imprint, both companies
market each other's titles on both sides of the Atlantic.
Thus, all titles published by St. Paul's Bibliographies or
Oak Knoll Press are available from either company, whichever
is most convenient for their customers.
